Want to know more?

You may have more questions about the Charity and what we do and whilst we are always looking to update this list, there are some of most popular questions we get asked.

Right now! We have currently just bought a 58acre beautiful bit of land that we'll start building on, sadly planning permission does take a long time to sort out but we have lots to do in the meantime. Currently the program we are currently focusing on as we build up the site is our charity aims that target the advancement of education. We're doing this by funding people to attend night school who are on benefits to boost their confidence, learn new skills, and improve their CV to help them move on to the next phases in their lives.

We are! It has taken us a long time and a lot of hard work but we finally made it!

This is our most commonly asked question, and our answer seems to make people a bit sad so let us explain! The answer is no, the only people who will be allowed to interact with the animals are our volunteers and staff. We thought about letting people feed and pet the animals as a way to bring in more people, but the idea didn't taste good. We want to work with animals who were not seen as a living creature and used in some way as a product, and it didn't feel right taking them from that environment and bringing them here to do the same. We just want them to be able to heal and find peace in their new home. But you will be able to get close and enjoy other activities on the land!

This is a very personal matter and something we have only talked about in length on more private accounts, as we felt we needed to let people know why we left. While we can assure everyone that there was no form of animal abuse taking place by the hands of the previous charity, there was a conflict that arose from the treatment of a volunteer which made it impossible to preach the mission statement of that charity in good faith. In the closing statement of his resignation letter Conor simply wrote:

"We are not judged by how we treat people who can do something for us, but by how we treat those who have nothing to offer."

We still wish the best for this charity and the non-human animals in their care, but in the end it was best to part ways and show that we do not stand for the mistreatment of anyone. While we are answering this question for those who wanted to know more, we ask that you do not retaliate in any way against this charity. Any negative backlash might hurt the animals in their care, which is something we want to avoid at all costs.

It goes directly to the charity bank account! No middle man or passing through hands, just directly to the charity. The board of trustees has to vote on how the money gets spent and anything over 250 pounds has to be voted on before the money is spent. This will go into care for our residents, building power and water lines to the property, planning permission and construction, and running our programs!
